Question the Author

is asked....

What is the greatest joy of writing for you?

My greatest joy is when I hear how my books have improved someone's life.

What do your fans mean to you?

Fans mean everything to me! In fact, I did a revision because I found out more people than I first expected find my books helpful! Talk about pleasant surprise!

When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?

When I’m not writing, I spend time learning about social media. I also enjoy spending time with my rescued cat, Velvety, love to sing and joke around. I also enjoy older shows and shows that show adults who have intellectual disabilities becoming successful! I also love spending time with my husband!

What are your five favorite books, and why?

The Redemption series by Karen Kingsbury

The First Born series by Karen Kingsbury

The Sunrise series by Karen Kingsbury

Above the Line series by Karen Kingsbury

Bailey Flanningon series by Karen Kingsbury

These books are series books. There are 4-5 books in each series.

What motivated you to become an indie author?

Becoming an indie author was totally by accident because I had never heard of self-publishing or any writing groups. I started receiving Department of Revenue messages and needed to earn money from my books. My original plan was to have the books be a tool for advocacy.

Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?

I started by writing a pamphlet about cell phones being useful to everyone and having answers to questions I asked every major cell phone company that I knew about AT THAT TIME. I put the questions into my books allowing the reader the chance to ask the companies the questions of interest to them.

Who is your favorite author and why?

My favorite author is Karen Kingsbury because she writes about modern day issues with a religious slant. In fact, I rarely let her books leave my house with anyone else. An example is the book she wrote on depression. She has also written a couple of books about adoptions. However, I am expanding my reading horizons to include other local authors.

What is your e-reading device of choice?

My iPad tablet. It’s larger than my iPhone. I can see more things before I have to scroll.

What inspires you to get out of bed each day?

What inspires me to get out of bed is encouraging others to be as independent as they want to be.

What do you read for pleasure?

The Bible and anything that can lift my energy and stamina.

Describe your desk

Cluttered! I’d rather spend my time helping others instead of being too organized.

What are you working on next?

Becoming more comfortable with social media and becoming a better speaker!
